 Skirt boards are an important element of a well-designed belt conveyor. They help centralize and shape the load while minimizing spillage over the belt edges and helping to contain dust. 

स्कर्ट बोर्ड एक अच्छी तरह से डिज़ाइन किए गए बेल्ट कन्वेयर का एक महत्वपूर्ण तत्व है। वे बेल्ट के किनारों पर रिसाव को कम करते हुए और धूल को रोकने में मदद करते हुए भार को केंद्रीकृत और आकार देने में मदद करते हैं।

 The steel plates that form the skirting should be installed high enough to avoid risk of contact with the belt, yet low enough to protect the rubber sealing strips from excessive load pressure and material wear. The cross-sectional area of the chute should be carefully to make certain that skirting and liner do not interfere with flow. Affixed to the bottom of steel is the skirt board sealing system, which provides a light, flexible contact with the conveyor belt.

This low sealing pressure will minimize friction while retaining all material within its boundaries. Excessive pressure will burn grooves in the belt rubber cover and, therefore must be avoided. Excessive adjustment or downward pressure of the skirt board seal can lead to accelerated wear of the sealing strip and/or belt.
 
यह कम सीलिंग दबाव अपनी सीमाओं के भीतर सभी सामग्री को बनाए रखते हुए घर्षण को कम करेगा। अत्यधिक दबाव बेल्ट रबर कवर में खांचे को जला देगा और इसलिए, इससे बचा जाना चाहिए। स्कर्ट बोर्ड सील के अत्यधिक समायोजन या नीचे की ओर दबाव सीलिंग पट्टी और / या बेल्ट के त्वरित पहनने का कारण बन सकता है।

By moving the station ahead or back a position is realized. This causes additional friction between idler and belt and creates a corrective force. Following is proposed.
